Cartoon Network inspired

I have 2 boys who watch Cartoon Network and they have these commercials with some funky colors that I would've never thought to put together. One of the commercials uses colors that match Stampin' Up! colors Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral & Creamy Caramel. I went with Close to Cocoa rather than Creamy Caramel. I traced a flower from the Sheer Blossoms set that you can purchase online at Papertrey Ink onto the Cameo Coral then I put it through the Cuttlebug using the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder to give it a little depth. I then cut it out and placed it underneath the Sheer Blossom flower. I put a brown prima flower on top and secured it all together with a Turquoise Ice Rhinestone from Stampin' Up! On the Close to Cocoa cardstock I stamped the Canvas background first then used the circle stamp from A to Z Accents for a background effect. Card ingredients: Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, Close to Cocoa & Whisper White cardstock, Tempting Turquoise, Close to Cocoa ink, Brown Prima flower, Turquoise Ice Square Rhinestone, Tiny Bubbles Embossing folder, and Cuttlebug.

2-5-7-10 Box

SCS has a bunch of tutorials for different projects. This 2-5-7-10 box has been on my list of things to try and I'm so happy it was VERY easy. I don't follow written directions too well and well this was one tutorial I could keep up with. I knew I wanted to use the Coluzzle to make a cut out window. After I cut it out I cut out a piece of acetate to cover the hole. It's made out of 1 sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of cardstock. You can find the tutorial here. Now I just need something to put inside! Box ingredients: So Saffron cardstock, Cutie Pie designer series paper, Purely Pomegranate & So Saffron ink, Scallop punch, Coluzzle, & Ribbon.

Note of Thanks

There is this fairly new product called Glimmer Mist made by Tattered Angels that I absolutely love! While in a local scrapbook store I came across the mist and in the color Candy Apple Red which is so pretty. The lady at the store was telling me how versatile it is and when she mentioned it works great on chipboard I knew I was going to get it. I came home and misted the flower chipboard you see on this card. It came out very sparkly and pinkish/red. It laid in my "to do" box forever. Yesterday I finally used it on a card. I thought it was too pretty to just be sitting around. Well here it is....I hope you all like it. Card ingredients: Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, So Saffron, and Whisper White cardstock, Wild Wasabi & Basic Black ink, Circle of Friendship & Dots & Daisies background stamps, Cutie Pie Designer Series paper by Stampin' Up!, flower chipboard, Black Gingham ribbon and last but certainly not least Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist.

Turkey Treats

Ok so don't laugh at my turkey feet. They were hand cut and well I don't draw to well that's why I rely on stamps! :) Here are 2 little bags I made for Manuel's Mothers Day Out teacher and director. I've seen a bunch of cute turkeys being made out of the Stampin' Up! Pick A Petal set. I used the coffee bags that some of us went in together to buy in bulk. I thought the bag would be perfect to store some Pumpkin cookies, fall Hershey Kisses, and two individual servings of Cappuccino mixes. I'm really excited on how they turned out. Bag ingredients: 1 lb. coffee bag w/ window, Thoroughly Thankful & Pick A Petal stamp sets, Really Rust, Summer Sun, Ruby Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip & Pumpkin Pie ink, Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie & Ruby Red cardstock, googlie eyes.

Count Your Blessings

I made a birthday card for a friend recently and forgot to take a picture. Tonight I recreated it using different colors though. The embossing folder was a little tricky trying to get it even on all sides. I tried the best I could. I decided to use the colors that are current and in style. I even based it off the new comforter set I recently purchased using Turquoise and Chocolate Browns in the comforter set. I think the colors go really well together. Card ingredients: Chocolate Chip & Soft Sky cardstock, Cuttlebug "Flower Circle" embossing folder, Scallop 1 3/8 inch & 1 inch SU punches, Circle of Friendship & Edgy Eloquence stamp sets.

Thankful Thoughts

Amy came over and stamped her Thanksgiving cards last night while I did some others. I decided to make 12 Thanksgiving cards with her set Thoroughly Thankful from last year's Stampin' Up! catalog. It's a fairly simple card but I like how simple it came out. Lots of punches this time. Card ingredients: Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Really Rust, and Old Olive cardstock, Vintage brads, Thoroughly Thankful, & Linen bg stamps, Oval scallop punches, 3/4 inch circle punch to make the pumpkin.

Perfect Plum glitter ornament

There is a tutorial for these glitter ornaments on Prairie Paper & Ink's blog found here. I've seen these on Splitcoast before and was hesitant to make one. Well today I tried one out and it's very easy to do! I know the picture looks quite dark but in real life it's very pretty and sparkly. For those who come around often I will show it to you next time! I used Perfect Plum reinker, glitter and clear glass ornaments that were half off at Hobby Lobby. I think I paid $2.50 for 12!!! Enjoy!

The colors to use were Soft Sky, Ruby Red, & Wild Wasabi. I was at Hobby Lobby today and found the cutest set of 4 embossing folders called Winter Jelly for the Cuttlebug. Card ingredients: Ruby Red, Soft Sky & Wild Wasabi cardstock, Winter Jelly embossing Cuttlebug folder, Merry & Bright & Linen background stamps, White & Blue polka dot ribbon, Corner punch & brads.

Ornament Tins

I bought 2 buckets of these tins for my wedding favors in Mexico. We were going to put personalized m&m's in them however we realized getting them from here to there in the middle of summer probably would not be a great idea. They would have probably melted. So I was left with all these tins and decided to sell some to a friend. The rest I will make and give to family for Christmas. They are very easy to make and unique I think. Christmas ornament tin ingredients: Tins from Michaels, Dashing Designer series paper, Real Red, Olive Olive & Whisper White cardstock, Real Red ink, Scallop punch, Crop a Dile, Red & White polka dot ribbon, clear gemstones.

Holiday Happiness

I will be posting various between now and Christmas for inspiration because we all know Christmas is around the corner. I can't believe how fast each year goes as I get older. I love this

Merry & Bright Christmas set from SU's mini catalog. I knew when I saw the reindeer in the set I would go and buy some of the red gemstones to make him Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! Card ingredients: Old Olive, Real Red, & Very Vanilla cardstock, Old Olive & Close to Cocoa ink, Merry & Bright stamp set, So Many Sayings hostess stamp set, Dashing designer series paper, Coluzzle, Scallop punch, brads.

Holiday tin

Well the holidays are around the corner and I've got a bunch of tins laying around my craft room. I thought I'd put them to use and start to decorate them. Here is one I finished and I like the way it turned out! Not sure who the lucky person to receive it will be but whoever it is I hope they will enjoy it as much as I do. Tin ingredients: tin purchased at Hobby Lobby, Designer series paper, Real Red & Whisper White cardstock, Black Stazon Ink, Ticket Punch, Prima flower, Red Gingham ribbon, black brad, Big on Christmas stamp set, Watercolor crayons, Stickles. I used a sponge with Old Olive ink and sponged around the edges of the whisper white cardstock and the edge of the tin to give it a little aged look.

Birthday Cupcake

I made this card using the sketch challenge 119 over at SCS found here. This card is for a special friend Samantha she will be turning 2 in a few days. I love to use pink and brown it's one of my favorite color combinations! Card ingredients: Chocolate chip, Pretty in Pink, Whisper white cardstock, Basic black & Chocolate chip ink, Swirl Cuttlebug embossing folder, black brads, pink button, brown & white polka dot ribbon, circle punches, Prinworks collection Make a Wish cupcake stamp, clear rhinestones.
